sadly, its a smaller tank also, so I am still filling up just as often.
the 31mpg tank was a week of thrashing it at every chance just to see what would happen.

Meanwhile, in the Passat:

And here I was being proud of my 18.5 MPG.

Wow. That’s worse than the Miata

nice - those VXs are cool.

I avg a little over 38mpg for the first four months of the year in my Civic. I know what you mean about the small tank, it’s the downfall of all small cars. Luckily even at current prices you have to run it pretty low to go over $30.

I’m averaging nearly 17 in my cargo van. Do you drive in only first gear?

I like that you carried it out 8 decimal places.
Never change.

wtf my truck gets better than that

No, but I drive very enthusiastically with AC on all the time.

If how often you fill up is a bigger concern than how much you actually spend on fuel, get one of these. 2,800 mile range from 170 gallon fuel capacity.

its not, and I know hauling around only ~8 gallons is part of why the VX does well. It’d just be nice if greater mpgs came with less fillings

technically google spreadsheet does :)

Get a Honda CRF250L with a Camel tank. That gets ~90 MPG and should go well over 300 miles between stops.

oh i miss the days of having a bike (like many fathers, I vowed not to ride anymore). spare change was a fill up for the bike and a gas station snack to fill the rider.

93 Civic LX in blue was my first car. Missed those MPGs ever since.

I understand why you’d do that, but I couldn’t stop riding for anything. My dad never stopped riding when I was born, and he’s a big reason I love it so much today. (And it’s not like a ‘93 Civic is a tank anyway, the thing will probably fold like a lawn chair in a tornado if anything bigger than a Elio hits it.)

VR6, 2.5, or 1.8T?
I’m guessing VR6 with fuel economy that bad, but...

i manage to pull out a solid 40 mpg, out of a 1.5l, and have managed 46 on really long highway trips........without needing to resort to “antics” while driving...... most of my regular driving is windy hill country.....
you are pulling out some downright good numbers

1.8T
I’m a bit too enthusiastic about staying in the boost.

TIL there is a gas station called LoafNJug.
Also, you misspelled Phillips *twitch*

My Metro got 33 highway mpg but only had a 10 gallon tank so I had worse range than pretty much anything.

not misspelled, miss-typed, because I have fat thumbs and keep this updated as I fuel up :D

Well, I can’t thumb type worth shit, so maybe I’ll just keep quiet.
